Boyneside Radio’s final two hours on the air in Drogheda in 1988 took the form of a programme called ‘Boyneside Radio Saying Goodbye’, with a full history of the station.
We join it right at the start at 1pm on December 31st .
Eddie Caffrey: Hasn’t changed much if you listen in now! Lol I remember that day well as we followed the Green Scene with a closedown show, and after a few drinks (you could then) in the Trinity Arms went around to turn off the AM at the Rossnaree Hotel and the two FMs at Fieldstown Hill, Monasterboice, and that night played records in the Lemon and Clove, Ardee and then later at Julianstown, Co Meath…what was I thinking!
