Alternative Broadcasting Cork

ALTERNATIVE BROADCASTING CORK

Alternative Broadcasting Cork was a pirate radio station set up in July 1978 by Stevie Bolger and Tony Gannon following a split from CBC.
It was located in a flat in Montenotte, which overlooked the whole city – making it an ideal location to site an antenna.
ABC Radio was a community-focused service with plenty of local news and interviews which broadcast on 233m.
They were raided on September 13th 1978, as was fellow Cork station CBC. They were back on air within 24 hours.
