CAPITOL DUBLIN
Capitol Dublin first appeared on June 10th 1982 testing on 98.3MHz. It launched on the 27th with Tony Allan on air. Lawrence John, Peter Madison, Steve Marshall and Scott Williams, were also involved.
It was based in Robert Emmet House on Dundrum Road in Milltown in South Dublin and was run by Kevin McNamee who was the owner of Alto Studios.
The station had a weak signal and found advertising difficult to come by. It fizzled out quite quickly and was gone for good by the end of the Autumn.
In their short time on air they did also launch a pirate TV station called Capitol TV but this was shut down very quickly.
