Radiowaves News Archives – March 29th 2003

Mix 107FM have been back on air on 107.1MHz from Ballybrack in south Dublin since Monday, a station spokesman told Radiowaves News today. The station, which went off air a few months back, are presently on test and intend to increase power shortly. They are also working on their studio and are investing in new equipment. Mix 107FM play non-stop music without advertisements, and this includes a limited amount of live programming.

Mix 107FM, who recently returned to air following a long absence, were shut down by ComReg yesterday. No equipment was taken, and the only reason given was that they were broadcasting illegally. The station, who were broadcasting from Ballybrack in south Dublin, will not be returning to air. But, they have expressed disappointment that there is no ‘legal’ outlet for the music that they play and want to hear.
