RADIO NA nGAEL
Located in Swords in north Co Dublin, Radio na nGael promised only Irish music and regular Irish language broadcasts. It first appeared on February 2nd 1984 on 92.2MHz. It also broadcast on 1350kHz (222m) and – unusually – full-time on SW.
They were forced to close in 1986 when RTÉ launched an objection to their name, claiming it bore a very close resemblance to the name of their own Irish language station – Raidió na Gaeltachta.
