NOVA THE HOT 100
November 9th 1987 saw a new station appear in Dublin playing non-stop music. Nine days later the station identified as The New Radio Nova – it was the return of Chris Cary and Radio Nova to Dublin’s airwaves. Always one for a gimmick the new station boasted that all music was to be played from compact disc, the new system for recorded music that was replacing vinyl and cassette. One week later The New Radio Nova, also identifying as Nova The Hot 100, had joined forces with Energy 103, who were by now identifying on air as Energy Power 103 FM. The amalgamated station was to be known as Nova Power 103FM.
