WXTC was a rebranded and rethought service from Radio Caroline Dublin, who were based in a backyard garden shed in Sutton, north Dublin.
Forced off the air by the authorities, the station rebranded as WXTC, a net-only radio-on-demand service in late 1990. They also broadcast on 91.6MHz in Dublin for a short period, first appearing on February 1st 2001 and running until June 2001.
There was just one live programme a night on the new WXTC FM service.
WXTC was an idea probably a little too ahead of its time in an Ireland still struggling with dial-up and per minute net access.
