QUINCENTENNIAL RADIO
Quincentennial Radio appeared in Galway on 98.4MHz FM a week after the massive pirate closedowns of December 1988. Operating on FM only, the name and frequency was chosen because Galway had had Quincentennial celebrations in 1984.
It emerged from the remnants of Coast 103, which had closed on December 31st 1988, but was short-lived, lasting just a few weeks.
Quincentennial Radio broadcast a good mixture of music with station IDs voiced by Tony Allen.
Their address was Prospect House, Eyre Square, Galway.
