The BCI have announced the award of two five year community licences in regard to the first phase of licensing of further community radio services. The licences for the franchise areas of West Dublin and Lucan have been awarded in principle to Dublin West Access Radio and Liffey Sound FM respectively. The licences are subject to the successful conclusion of contract negotiations.
Speaking in relation to the announcement, the BCI’s Chief Executive Michael O’Keeffe said: “We are pleased to announce the award of the licences in these franchise areas to Liffey Sound FM and Dublin West Access Radio. We look forward to concluding contract negotiations at an early date with both groups.
