BIG L

With the launch of Big L on July 17th 1978, professional radio arrived in Limerick. Ran by Mike Richardson and Hayman Harris, Big L was a very popular station broadcasting on 194Mtrs and 92.1MHz from Ellen Street at the heart of the city.

The station had an uneasy start, it was raided (along with other Limerick stations) within a week of launch. However, it managed to get back on the air and proved very popular until it closed in 1985.
