PREMIER RADIO INTERNATIONAL
Premier Radio International was formed to promote local Dublin radio and to provide an alternative to RTÉ.
It first appeared on shortwave on May 1st 1976, and was followed with a medium wave test on Sunday May 9th 1976 on 212 metres.
The first official broadcast was on the following Sunday (May 16th) on 218m MW. They appeared again on May 23rd, this time on 222m.
They were around for a few more broadcasts before disappearing at the end of June. They returned at the end of October 1976.
Two of the names on air were Jimmy St Ledger and Pat Brighton.
