Dublin South FM

Dublin South FM is a licensed community radio station which broadcasts on 93.9MHz between 11am and 11pm daily

We are a community station run by volunteers with the support of some permanent part time staff.
Our Mission
Dublin South Community Radio, 93.9  is a non-profit entity operating under the auspices of the Brodcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).We provide a community communication platform accessible to all groups and individuals who have the democratic benefit of the community at heart.
We embrace the AMARC Charters recognition that community radio is an ideal means of fostering freedom of expression and information, the development of culture, the freedom to form and confront opinions and active participation in local life: noting that different cultures and traditions lead to diversity of forms of community radio: the AMARC Charter identifies objectives which community radio stations world wide share and should strive to achieve.
Dublin South community radio has been created and is run without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste, colour or age. We seek to achieve and maintain the highest principals of democratic and moral broadcast standards.

Our Mission is to:
Provide – an alternative to mainstream radio, a voice for those under-represented or excluded, through training and access to radio broadcasting facilities.
Serve – our community through distinctive programming, which honestly informs and contributes to the entertainment, education and development of our community
Foster – democracy, pluralism, global justice and media literacy
Work – for social change, by promoting dialogue, encouraging artistic expression, offering alternative world views and by acting as a forum for people who typically lack media access
Defend – the environment and human rights, particularly the right to communicate
Ensure – that we are editorially independent, accountable, transparent and participatory and to respect the role of the volunteers and staff
Support – community building values, local business, local arts initiatives, multiculturalism and linguistic diversity
Encourage – exchange of diverse ideas, creativity, local traditions and collective actions
Resist – discrimination, exclusion and media enclosure
Promote – the development and use of new technologies, communication and information technology
