Laser 89
[/note]

Laser 89 appeared in Waterford shortly after the massive closedowns of December 1988. They first ran test broadcasts between January 9th-11th and then ran live programming on the 12th on 88.6MHz FM.
Described as sounding slick and professional, they announced themselves as ‘commercial-free radio for Waterford City’.
By February they had ceased transmissions owing to ‘TV interference’.
