The May 1983 raids on Nova and Sunshine hit hard as Radio West decide to voluntarily cease broadcasting on the night of May 19th.

This recording of Mullingar pirate Radio West, which was made in Blackpool, England, off 765kHz, starts at 2pm with Ollie Clarke on air. He’s followed by Dave Murphy at 3pm. The date is September 1983.
At this time Radio West were using the former Radio Nova 10kW Gates transmitter.
This is Don Allen’s Breakfast Show on Mullingar-based pirate Radio West from July 1984. The recording was taken off 765kHz and starts at 7.30am. Don is pictured in the Radio West studio.

This is a very lively edition of Radio West’s Anorak Show from January 25th 1987.
Seán Coyne and Don Allen deal with the biggest radio industry stories of the week and on this particular show took a phone-call from a bad-tempered Hugh Hardy (pictured) of Radio Carousel.
The show ran from 11am to midday and although this recording is edited it shouldn’t spoil your enjoyment.
