Galaxy FM

Cork station Galaxy FM were a mid ’00s dance pirate

Previously known as: BPM; Heat FM

Galaxy FM were a dance music pirate which broadcast to Cork on 107.4MHz FM from mid-2004. They were a relaunch of BPM, which broadcast on the same frequency, and Heat 93.1FM, which lasted just a couple of days.

BPM moved to 93.1MHz FM due to the concerns of licensed stations close to their 107.4FM launch frequency. After the move they rebranded as Heat FM, but didn’t last long.

The station reappeared as Galaxy FM on their original frequency in the summer of 2004.
