Radiowaves.FM - A tribute site to Irish Radio

CAU FM was a Dublin station of the 1980s. It first appeared in November 1987, having previously operated under the name Phoenix Radio.

CAU FM launched on 103.5MHz on the same day that Phoenix was ordered to close down. It later moved to 104.2MHz.

The station closed on July 16th 1988.

CAU FM was a ’boutique’ radio station broadcasting from South Dublin in the mid 1980’s.

We had a loyal following and a steady listenership that enjoyed the music we played along with great on-air personalities that kept our audience entertained.

Great music from artists like Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, ‘Til Tuesday, David & David, Icehouse, The Human League, Tears For Fears, ABC, INXS, Visage and many many more. Music that most other stations never played.
