A spokesperson for Radio Friendly in Galway has contacted Radiowaves News to say that the station are back on the air after some problems with their link transmitter last month.
“The problems are sorted, and we’re back with a 150 watt TX covering all of the city and large tracts of the the county. Although we are in mono at the moment, we are awaiting delivery of a stereo encoder and RDS unit. We should be in stereo by the end of the month,” the spokesperson concluded.

RADIO FRIENDLY ANNOUNCE CLOSURE
Galway dance station Radio Friendly, which broadcasts on 107.2MHz, has closed down, it was announced today. The owners have decided that ‘bigger projects’ are in greater need of their attention and can no longer invest in the station. Friendly had been off air since last week. They’ve decided not to switch the transmitter back on.
